By submitting an article for evaluation and potential publication in Espíritu, the author(s) exclusively transfer to the Fundación Balmesiana the intellectual property rights, including the rights of reproduction, distribution, public communication, and transformation, in all possible forms of publication (printed, digital, online, databases, derivative formats, etc.), for the maximum duration allowed by applicable law. This transfer is made free of charge and covers a worldwide scope.

If the article is not accepted for publication, this transfer of rights will automatically be null and void.

Espíritu commits to distributing all published texts under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). This allows third parties to share the published content (copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format) provided that:

  • Proper attribution to the author and source is given.
  • The material is not used for commercial purposes.
  • The content is not modified, and no derivative works are created.

Authors will retain their moral rights over the work (including authorship recognition, integrity of the content, etc.), and to further expand the reach of their content, it is recommended that they:

  • Include the article in their own institutional or thematic open-access repositories, in accordance with the policies of research funding bodies, and deposit it in scientific social networks and personal websites.
  • Use it in their personal academic or teaching activities (such as classes, conferences, theses, etc.), provided that the original publication in Espíritu is properly referenced.

The authors guarantee that the article is original, has not been previously published, nor submitted simultaneously to another publication, and that it does not infringe the rights of third parties. In case of any conflict, the authors will assume the corresponding legal responsibility.
