To de Maistre, modern individualism<br \/>\ncannot be understood without<br \/>\nthe negation of the authority made by Protestantism<br \/>\nand, according to Taparelli,<br \/>\nProtestantism\u2019s subjectivity allowed the<br \/>\nliberalization of the juridical and political<br \/>\norder.
