For this reason, during this second period of the process, the identity of the author and the reviewers is kept secret. <\/p>\n The peer reviewers’ assessment is aimed at verifying the originality, relevance and quality of the research that underpins the manuscript and the chosen method is intended to guarantee the fairness of the evaluation.<\/p>\n In order to fulfil the purpose of the evaluation, it is important that authors omit from their manuscripts any reference that could reveal their identity. On the other hand, it is necessary that the reviewers maintain the confidentiality of the article they are reviewing. The journal’s Editorial Board, for its part, prepares a report informing the author of the decision to publish the article and transmits the comments made by the referees that contribute to improving the article. This process takes place within two to six months of the submission of the article.
